Can the Bamboo management server (download version) run on EC2?

Matt June 19, 2013

We've had to move to the download version from our trial of Bamboo onDemand for various reasons.

Wondering if we can run the download version on EC2? Has anyone done this? Issues?

We have passed on this idea, not enough user experience. Installing in our colo instead.

It's *possible*. You would need a higher tier instance and more if you are running local agents. It all depends on your usage etc. It's been done before.

It might be better with a higher spec VPS or an Atlassian hosting partner etc.

Thanks. The hosting partner angle is one I hadn't considered. Just trying to find the closest solution to onDemand, but with remote agents.

If you need an OnDemand alternative, best to get Atlassian hosting service to manage the whole set. This is something we do, if interested, contact us @ https://www.cloudshards.com/contact.php for a custom solution. We currently host many Atlassian products for users that don't fit OnDemand.

There are also others to choose from. Depends on your needs.
