Can't install plugins on self-hosted Bamboo

Matt Pangaro April 23, 2017

We have a self-hosted Bamboo server, and attempts to install marketplace plugins are failing with errors like:

2017-04-23 18:02:07,450 WARN [http-nio-8085-exec-23] [XsrfResourceFilter] Additional XSRF checks failed for request: http://localhost:8085/rest/plugins/1.0/ , origin: https://bamboo.domain.com , referrer: https://bamboo.domain.com/plugins/servlet/upm/marketplace/search , credentials in request: true , allowed via CORS: false

The server was installed using the Atlassian jar-based installer for setting up an EC2-based Bamboo instance, and other than the inability to integrate with our hosted Jira instance, it has worked fine. What do I need to change/configure to have it allow its own API calls?

Got an answer on the plugin's question site. The setup through the wizard didn't get the tomcat proxy setup customized, per the instructions here:

Actually, checking the server over again, I realized it was set up properly by the original wizard, but using the upgrade process lost the customization.
