We use Bamboo's plan branches and the auto-management is on. So the text on the UI says:
Bamboo will automatically create Plan Branches when it detects new branches in your version control system and automatically remove Plan Branches from Bamboo after a specified period of inactivity. Detection of new branches runs every 5 minutes
Observed and desired behaviour:
Aww, it doesn't have this behaviour:
In other words, we'd prefer the behaviour to be: create new plan branch on new or updated git branches, if no plan branch exists for that git branch. Or - can I enable this, and if so, how?
The answer to the original question is: nope
I see that https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BAM-12161 has been created for this issue. From the comments, it looks like Atlassian isn't really planning on implementing this feature. Please vote for the ticket. If enough users do so, hopefully they'll change their minds.
+1000 for this issue We're using both Stash and Bamboo, and have set the Pull Request to only be merged when we have at least one successful build. When a branch is deleted in Bamboo and not re-created, we're not able to get a successful build, and I have to disable this check, merge that pull request and enable the check again. If it is not possible to have Bamboo re-create the branch automatically, is there (or will there be) a command to create the branch manually, such that it is not necessary to override these checks?

We would also be very much interested in this option to recreate the plan branch. As a work-around we set the auto-clean up delay to zero (for never clean up).
Also, why is it so that branch-detection is by polling every 5 minutes? We don't like to wait. Can't we change this or configure it to work with a trigger like with auto-builds with new commits?
