Build a Windows 8 Store App on Bamboo

Matt Smith April 30, 2013

Has anyone successfully done this?

I'm not sure how this is possible because when I tried to msbuild my jsproj on Server 2012 I got:

"This Windows Store app could not be packaged. You can only package Windows Store apps on computers that have the Windows 8 operating system"

And this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/br211386.aspx

Says:

"Important Windows Store app development is supported only on Windows 8. You can't develop Windows Store apps on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2012."

So you can't create Windows 8 EC2 instances so i'm not sure what to try next.

I too want to know... "Does Bamboo OnDemand have Server 2012 base images?"

Ended up installing VS 2012 on separate Server 2012, manually copying files across and building.

Does Bamboo OnDemand have Server 2012 base images?

Hello there,

Since Amazon don't provide Windows 8 AMI, the only way to solve this is make use of the installed version of Bamboo, using your own in house infrastructure.

Cheers,
