Bamboo self hosting and installation recommendations

Lahiru Amarathunga December 1, 2016

We are going to setting up a Bamboo server for access from multiple offices and would like to get more information on the following:

We will have around 100 build and 25 deployment plans.

Artifacts will be stored in Amazon S3 Buckets

We will plan to use Amazon Ec2 instances as remote agents.

we will use "8 core, 8 GB RAM".

if we use VM can there be any performance hit ?

what do you recommend to us  VM or dedicated Server ?

The big question is what the configuration you're using for the webapp and the database?  Also how many concurrent web users will you have? And the number of remote agents? The remote agents do add load load...

For normal use a 2 core, 4GB Memory on the webapp works pretty well (and seperate the mysql to a different server).

I haven't seen a huge hit from using a VM (of course that depends on how over provisioned the VM host is etc).

I'd recommend reading over https://confluence.atlassian.com/bamboo/bamboo-best-practice-system-requirements-388401170.html
