Bamboo repository polling stopped working

Hello,

We have numerous build plans with a mixture of SVN and Bitbucket repositories. About half of the jobs are configured with repository polling as build triggers, but it stopped working overnight. There are no information in the logs regarding polling. Can someone help me with what I should do for next steps? I'm avoiding system downtime from restarting Bamboo. Thanks a bunch.

Hi,It's hard to tell why this happened without actually looking at your instance. Is the problem existing only for some builds or all of them? If it's only for certain builds it might be a problem with particular repository configuration. If this happens for all builds, it might be that all change detection threads are locked up for some reason. Some ideas:

are you observing any long running git processes in your system? can you try generate some thread dumps and paste them here? (you can also create a support zip: https://confluence.atlassian.com/support/create-a-support-zip-790796819.html, it will include thread dumps)

Last not least: restarting Bamboo might be actually the fastest way of resolving this.
