Bamboo deploy via REST API

Is it possible to trigger a Bamboo deployment via the REST API?  I can do it fine for Build Plans, but can't work out how to do the same for Deployment plans.

As of Bamboo version 5.11 this is possible.
this was mentioned in the release blog post.

The actual REST call is /deploy/project/{deploymentProjectId}/version, documented at https://docs.atlassian.com/bamboo/REST/5.11.1/#d2e1187.
