Bamboo authentication Issue

Hi All

We are having a bamboo server with ldap integration which works with bamboo,confluence and jira. at times we are having login issues with bamboo and needs one or more restart of bamboo service to login into bamboo. 

The error we get is as below,

[http-bio-8085-exec-13] [DefaultAuthenticator] login : 'useremail' could not be authenticated with the given password

2015-07-29 10:15:04,015 WARN [http-bio-8085-exec-13] [DefaultAuthenticator] login : 'useremail' tried to login but they do not have USE permission or weren't found. Deleting remember me cookie.

we followed the resolution as per the below link.

But when we set up  bambooauthenticator to use crowd or single sign on we are unable to restart the bamboo service . the issue is quite confusing . in Bamboo configure page we could see that bamboo is configured to use the ldap authentication but in seraph-config.xml file its written to use internal bamboo authenticator. All our users are able to login with the ldap username and password as well. But at time the server will not allow us to login and when we check the logs we get the above error and after one or more restart ( or stop & start process) the users wil be able to login.

Any help on solution will be highly appreciated.

Thanks for the detailed mail. Seems like the below link helped to fix the problem for now. Cant reproduce the issue to retest it .

The file above mentioned should be modified only if you have Crowd installed as Single Sign-On (SSO) is managed by Crowd.

You have mentioned Bamboo is configured to authenticate against LDAP, in this case, you might have atlassian-user.xml set up with LDAP settings on how to connect to your Active Directory and Users and Groups to be filtered. Please refer to How to set up LDAP in Bamboo for further information.

In case you have the same set of users in the applications (JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo) it would be beneficial if you set up LDAP in JIRA and let this manage users authentication in Bamboo/Confluence, for instance.
