Bamboo artifact storage: package threshold

Recently the setting Package threshold was introduced in the artifact storage settings. It will zip the contents if the number of files is over the threshold.

We prefer to always have the artifacts as separate files. Is there a way to achieve that? Is there a performance impact on having the value too high?

You can set this value to some high number and that would do the trick. However, each file upload (and download) needs to be separate request to Amazon S3, which means:

  • it will slow things down
  • you'll possibly pay more for your AWS services, as Amazon charges for S3 requests
