Bamboo - How to increment version number without truncation?

Ben Egglestone July 26, 2017

I want to produce a version which uses 0's for padding - typically

F-1234-5678-01

Then

F-1234-5678-02

F-1234-5678-03

etc.

Using "Last number in version" and starting with -01 I get

F-1234-5678-2

F-1234-5678-3

etc.

How can this truncation be removed?

I believe you are referring to Deployment releases. You can use variables to develop more complex naming schemes.

To configure: Click the Release versioning button on the 'Deployment project configuration' screen and add something like F-1234-5678-${bamboo.planvar. If the variable value is 06, the Subsequent Release will be 07.

More info can be found here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/bamboo/naming-versions-for-deployment-releases-361726798.html

Hope that helps.
