I am going to do the cloning and was waiting to hear if I have to run the install after I unzip it on the new server or can I just start the service on the new server??

I am going from a 2003 to 2008 windows server. I have read some other post and can I just start the new service on the new server after unzipping or do I have to run an install from it?

This depends on the platform - Bamboo on Windows and Mac both have an installer you can use, but the Linux installation is just a download that needs to be extracted and then started via a script. For step by step instructions for all platforms see our Bamboo Installation Guide.
