Automated Creation of New Deployment Environments in Bamboo

My question is regarding the creation of new environments in existing Deployment Projects.  As we move towards automation, we will be spooling up new environments fairly rapidly.  To get our existing applications deployed to new environments, currently we need to manually clone and create the environment for each application.  Has anybody had success automating the creation of deployment environments?  Are there any plans, in a future version of Bamboo, to allow for the creation of environments across different applications/projects, or at the very least, API calls that allow for deployment environment creation (including editing variables and tasks)?

Creating deployment projects is available in the latest Bamboo version. I didn't find creation of environments though. Might be soon coming!

If you can't wait, you cam write a plugin to expose the functionality as a REST endpoint.

If you're looking for plugin, this might do the trick for you:

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/org.valens.bamboo-templatedplans-plugin/server/overview

It allows you to setup a template and replicate through that.
