Bamboo 6.9.0 has been released!

We’re excited to announce that Bamboo 6.9 is here! With Bamboo Server 6.9, we’ve expanded on our investments in configuration as code. Check out some of the highlights:

Bamboo Specs YAML 2.0: Since we released Bamboo Specs YAML support over two years ago, we’ve received feedback that you need more. So we’ve improved our YAML Specs support, which includes support for:

  • deployments

  • deployments permissions

  • plan permissions

  • variables

  • triggers

  • notifications

We've also broadened the scope of plan definitions, added new tasks and simplified Bamboo Specs YAML syntax.

Project view permission: We’ve introduced a new permission (the “view” permission), which allows you to limit access to projects to specific users or groups. Yes, even users with plan permissions need the view permission to see the content of a project and to access all of the plans in a project. Without it, users won't be able to see, run or administer any plans.

Manual encryption:

There are times when you use sensitive data like passwords, pass phrases or other access credentials when you are working on your repository-stored Bamboo Specs - Java or YAML. To protect this data, you now have the ability to use Bamboo sensitive data encryption before storing any confidential information in your code repository.

Agent notifications: We know many of you manage a large number of remote agents. With agent notifications, you can now easily identify when your remote agents come online or go offline directly within Bamboo or via an email notification.

We’d love to get your feedback on these new improvements and how your organization plans to take advantage of these new features. Share your stories, questions, and feedback with the Bamboo team right here!

Well, @Marcin Walerianczyk  What about next release 6.10?

From our side 6.9 is pretty cool.

Sometimes is good to have a dark feature panel in admin panel instead of enabling by system properties for every feature.  what do you think ? like in jira /secure/admin/SiteDarkFeatures!default.jspa

Hi @Gonchik Tsymzhitov

Regarding 6.10 we never talk about future releases, but please stay tuned.
Regarding dark features it's intentional in system properties.
Turning on dark feature is likely to require server restart,
so we are not sure about value for putting it into admin panel, but of course you can raise a suggestion in https://jira.atlassian.com/projects/BAM/
