Hi Community,
I am an Jira site admin of my organization. I want to create a board for Project managers who can manage the task through bug type priority.
However, I am unable to find the "Bug Type" field in the Issue navigator for filter creation in the Jira. Can you guide me to - how we can enable the "Bug type" field in issue navigator to create a filter with respect to production type, system type or UAT type of bugs so that I can create a board for manager.
Moreover, In the issue navigator we found column option and in that list "Bug type" files is existing but in the issue navigator search this filed is not visible.
It sounds like you created a custom field named Bug Type and what I have found in the past is that when a custom field isn't available in search it can be caused by the field not having a search template defined.
If you edit details of the custom field definition under Settings > Issues > Custom Fields you should see the field name, description and a Search Template drop-down field. If the search template is not set then that makes the field not searchable and causes the symptom you are seeing.
Below is an image from the edit screen of one of our select list/single choice fields where it is using the Multi Select Searcher; many times there is only one available search template.
Hi Shasheenkant,
There is not field with out of the box Jira called "Bug type". You would need to create a custom field of single pick list type is you want to be able to choose just one value. Or Multi pick list type if you want to be able to apply multiple values at one time.
Or to see if that custom field already exists, go to Settings > Issues > Custom fields and search for the field.
