We are setting up a federated Jira instance with two data server versions of Jira. We are curious if we can set up an Automation for Jira rule to trigger an update on an issue in one Jira project based on an edit to an issue in a project on the other instance of Jira if the issues are linked.

You can use Automation to make a web request along with webhooks to integrate those instances.
