Hey, Speakers!

It’s that time of year again…

Team ‘23 is just around the corner, and we’re looking for inspiring speakers (like you!) to share their stories at the ultimate event for modern teamwork. Team '23 runs April 18–20, 2023 live in Las Vegas — will you be part of the action?

What is Team '23?

Team '23 is the ultimate event for modern teamwork. Attendees from around the globe are invited to explore the ways in which teamwork, humanity, and tech intersect, and learn about how Atlassian products and solutions can help unleash their team's full potential.

We’re looking for ways you build thriving teams through unique practices or Atlassian products, and we encourage individuals of all backgrounds and levels of speaking experience to submit a proposal.

Why should I submit a talk for Team '23?

  • Grow your career by speaking at Atlassian's flagship event

  • Establish thought leadership as a subject matter expert

  • Share your use case, solutions to problems, best practices, teachings, and tips and tricks

  • Connect with other speakers, teams, and roles globally

  • Help new users learn how to master Atlassian products

Additionally, if you're selected as a speaker, you will receive full speaker assistance from an assigned Atlassian partner who will help you with your presentation, deadlines, and other deliverables. You’ll also get access to a robust speaker resource center and playbook to help you prepare for your talk, as well as a speaker coach and assistance with building out your presentation.

Don’t worry — we accept all levels of speaking experience for our flagship conference. We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives — if you’ve got that, then you’re golden. Review our tips for a winning submission to increase your chances of being selected.

What are this year's themes?:

  • ITSM: IT is in the midst of rapid transformation, but old ways of working constrain progress. Learn about how Atlassian’s ITSM solution empowers teams from support, operations, development, and beyond to deliver great service at scale.

  • Agile & DevOps: Modernize your software development practices with the power of Atlassian's agile and DevOps products, and ecosystem partners. Learn how development teams, IT teams, and the business can improve collaboration, break down silos, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

  • Open work managementDigital transformation changes the way work gets done and how people work together. New workflows and practices are created, adapted, and evolved by teams to orchestrate the way they deliver value. Atlassian Work Management is a disruptive new subscription that powers teamwork from start to finish so teams can hit their goals faster.

  • Teamwork cultureUnleashing your team’s full potential requires a combination of the right products, practices, and culture. Learn about effective collaboration with tools like Trello, Confluence, and new product innovations that help keep everyone on the same page. Explore the vital elements that go into building high-performing teams and how to assess and develop what’s essential for distributed workforces to remain productive, healthy, and resilient.

If your topic doesn’t fit neatly into one of these categories, or if it spans a few, that’s okay. We care about innovative and creative content that will solve our audience’s most pressing issues. If that sounds like your session, then we want to hear from you!

What kinds of sessions can I submit for?

We have a wide variety of session formats this year, both for in-person and digital audiences. Please note, we now require all sessions, including demos and theater sessions, to be submitted through Call for Speakers:

  • Breakout session — standard (in-person)

  • Breakout session — unified (in-person and digital livestream)

  • Digital demo

  • Digital ask me anything

  • Digital on-demand session

  • Expo theater session (in-person only)

  • Expo lab (in-person only)

Check out the Call for Speakers homepage for more details on each session type.

How do I draft a winning submission?

  • Lead with the value — Start off by telling the audience the most important information, and then provide your supporting details. If the talk you’re submitting is about how your team automated 500 hours of work for the business, lead with that! Then go into how you did it.
  • Write your session title like it’s a headline — Because, really, the title is the headline for your session. Make it attention-grabbing and thought-provoking — without being too overly clever or using business jargon or inside jokes.
    • Examples:
      • Interpersonal alchemy: The magic of high-performing teams
      • Chaos to cohesive: Distributed teamwork that actually works
      • Throw away your slides: Talking with people, not at them
  • Think of the abstract as your elevator pitch — You’re stuck in an elevator with someone and you have, at most, maybe 30 seconds to tell them about your session. What do you say?

Be sure to lead with the value and list the top supporting points that you’ll dive into in your session. Use metrics and numbers, if you have them, but don’t drown them in data. Pick the most important stats and tie them to your supporting points.

Read the rest of our tips here.

When is the deadline?

The Call for Speakers for Team ‘23 is open — don’t miss your chance to submit a talk proposal. The deadline for speaker submissions is November 10.

Hi @Cassie Mayes Can you please confirm that the deadline for speaker submissions is closed?
