Zephyr (Capture) Test Case Structure

Amy Lynch June 9, 2014

We are trying to create multiple test steps within Test cases for one Participant test record. I have been trying to figure out a way within Jira Capture where this will work but am coming up empty. Need to know if this is doable in JIRA and if so, how?

Here is a further breakdown of the example of our scenario:

1st Test Case titled "Elect Active Medical"

Within that test, we have listed all the steps or options available for testing medical plans within the system so for this test, there are 23 different options. (Example: Medical Eligible, Medical Choice Kaiser Non-Tobacco, Medical Choice Kaiser Tobacco, Medical HDHP Non- Tobacco, Medical HDHP Tobacco, etc)

We will use several different test participants in our system to cover all these different test steps.

2nd Test Case titled "HCFSA, DCFSA"

Within this test, we have listed all the steps or options available for testing HCFSA, DCFSA within the system so for this test, there are 6 different options. (Example: HCFSA Waive, HCFSA Not Eligible, HCFSA Participating, DCFSA Waive, DCFSA Not Eligible, DCFSA Participating)

Here is what we need to do:

It could be that one PPT will need to be tested across multiple STEPS within tests. (Example: Test 1, Step 3 and Test 2 Step 3 would be for the same participant test record)

Is there a way to run multiple test steps across test cases for one PPT? We basically need to find within ALL our tests and test steps all those that are related to EEID46587 for example. Note: We are putting the EEID within the TEST step "Test Data" field. We run our test manually.

I have a screen shot of our testing cases if that would help in the unertanding - but could not see where this venue supported attachments.

Thank you

A.

Hello, Amy.

If you're asking about JIRA Capture, it provides a concept of Test Sessions. These are usefull for organizing exploratory test sessions, particularly - track issues which were raised during these sessions.

In case you have Zephyr-specific questions, I'd recommend contacting their support crew directly. Hope this helps!
