Are there any plans to make the AI features available via the API?

Hi @Andy P ,

Good question. According to their support site, Atlassian Intelligence (AI) is still in open beta.

I haven't read any official announcement or a timeline for making the AI features in Jira available via the API.

Hope this helps,

Yeah I couldn't find anything on this hence asking.

I can imagine some powerful use cases for this if some endpoints were made available in future.

@Andy P I am curious about this too. Could you share one use case that is top of mind for you?

We have integrated a Slack bot to answer questions about our company's knowledge base. Using the Atlassian AI API as an addition would be a great upgrade, saving us from having to set up a lot of infrastructure.

Same as Akbay, we have a LLM-enabled Slack bot that currently uses some middle ware and OpenAI to interpret a user query into a search string, then we use the API to search for that string in Confluence and return the results to OpenAI. This is fine when it works, but brittle and inconsistent.

We could cut out the middlemen with an API and likely get better results, faster.
