Following up on our previous announcement on upcoming Atlassian Data Lake schema changes, we are ready to announce that the new schema will be released on Monday, July 25 PDT. This new schema is a result of your direct feedback and will make it easier to query and build charts analyzing your Atlassian product data by reducing the need for complex joins and calculations.
When the new schema is released, all charts querying your existing Data Lake connections will break. Once this change occurs, starter dashboards can be created on the new schema by adding a new Data Lake connection. Any custom charts that were created will need to be manually migrated over to the new schema. Refer to the migration instructions for more guidance on how to migrate charts.
Ahead of the new schema release, we recommend letting your Atlassian Analytics users know this change is coming. If you're using Atlassian Analytics dashboards for critical workflows, be prepared to have a backup plan or dedicate time to migrate your charts after the change. Now would also be a good time to archive or delete any unused dashboards, or prioritize the important charts and dashboards you wish to migrate to the new schema.
We appreciate your participation in the Atlassian Analytics and Data Lake EAP and are sorry for this disruption. For future schema iterations, we plan to provide better ways to maintain schema versioning and migration for your charts and dashboards.
