Will Assets Data Manager have a discovery tool besides the current Assets Discovery?

Atlassian's Assets Discovery tool has loads of limitations, making it tough to consider it as a go-to enterprise CI scanning tool.

Is there any chance Assets Data Manager will get its own scanning tool, separate from integrations with other scanning tools or CMDBs?

Data Manager provides normalised data that is complete, current and correct but it does not include a discovery tool.

Based on the conversations with the Atlassian, I believe that the roadmap is not to have its own asset discovery other that the current Assets Discovery tool.   I also know that there is no development work plan to enhance Assets Discovery.  

The goal is to integrate with all the different platforms, in which some cases you can get away without one, if they have may platforms already in place like SCCM, intune, jamf, windows defender, etc.
