Using Scriptrunner function in Structure

G T May 29, 2024

If I search for issues using the scriptrunner function:

issueFunction in addedAfterSprintStart("board_name","sprint_name")

I get a list of the issues added to the sprint after the start. Great.

But when I try and use this exact same query in a Structure by creating an Insert JQL Query automation, it returns no rows even though I get a green tick for correct JQL syntax and no error messages are returned.

Am I doing something wrong, or is it not possible to insert issues into a structure using these ScriptRunner functions?

Are there any workarounds? I know I could created a saved search and reference that in the Structure, but that is very clunky for my particular use case.

Hello @G T

There is a technical limitation that doesn't allow Structure to fetch all expected issues from this query by default. You can change that by adding the structure.job.emulateHttpRequest dark feature, setting it to true and uninstalling/installing Structure again.

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance or if you have other questions about Structure, please reach out to us directly at our support portal.

Best regards,

Hello,

Thanks for the answer.  I had our Jira Admins follow your instructions on our test environment, but I still get no rows returned for any sprints other than the currently active one.  Can you suggest anything else we can try?

I will also join the Tempo Support group too.

@G T

If
1. Adding the mentioned dark feature and
2. Reinstalling Structure (this step is crucial for the feature to work)
didn't help, then please submit a support request at our portal - an investigation is required to determine why the query doesn't work.

Best regards,
Stepan

The Tempo support team helped us out and the issue is sorted.  Your original answer was correct, we were making a mistake whilst enabling the dark feature.

Thanks again for the help.
