Hello all,
I had previously installed the app Gantt Suite for Jira.
Then I spent a ton of effort and time into understanding it, developing it to suite my needs, etc.
Then I got it into my head that perhaps I might try other Gantt style apps. Usually, I installed them, found them lacking or missing certain functionality. or in one case invasive. each was tested and uninstalled.
And now my original Gantt app continues to crash and refuses to open. The notification is that the developer has been notified, but I should contact Atlassian Support. The option has never proven ideal, considering I have periodically received an email from support, but no useful help - even when I was a premium trial user.
So now, here I am, having spent incalculable time on an app that continues to crash.
Is there a way to get the crashed app working again - without having to rebuild and start over.
Cheers
I attempted to uninstall and reinstall the app. I didn't think that would work, but it was worth a try. In the end, I removed it and went searching for another similar app. That one worked and my issue no longer exists.
Thanks for answers.
Cheers
Hello @Barry Neilson
Can you provide screen image(s) of the exact error you are getting when the "crash" occurs?
What are the steps you are executing leading up to that crash?
It is possible that the problem is happening in the code of the third party app rather than Jira itself, and you may need to contact the app vendor instead.

This is the error message - being exceptionally unhelpful.
Interestingly, I managed to load the Gantt chart app but was then hit with error after error claiming that the chart would not update. But now I can't reopen it to replicate.
Why doesn't Atlassian test the software loaded to its marketplace. Or better yet, why didn't Atlassian produce a far better Gantt tool than their current timeline offering.

What are the steps you were executing prior to the error message?
Do the same steps continue to produce the same message? If it comes up when you try to access some specific entity(I e. a specific agile board) can you access other entities of the same type without getting the error?
