I'm curious about how to make the 'No Epic' folder invisible in Jira Structure.

JeongSooYoung March 13, 2024

When grouping by Epic in Jira Structure, I want to prevent the No Epic folder from being exposed. I would appreciate it if you could tell me how.

Hello @JeongSooYoung

Like any other grouper, the Group by Epic transformation/generators works this way: it checks if an issue has a value in the configured field, and then places the issue in a relevant group - either a group based on the existing value or in the 'no value' group. So, if an issue has no value in the Epic Link field, it will be placed in the 'No epic' folder.

There is no customizing the groups and their names; the groups are either present because of the value or they are not created in the first place.

To avoid the creation of the 'No epic' folder, you can try a different approach of building the structure. Currently, you're first adding issues of Epics and then you pull Epics into the structure using the group transformation. Instead, you can try this:

1. Pull Epics into the structure first by an Inserter generator.
2. And then add their issues with the Stories under Epics Extend generator.

I hope this helps. If you have more questions about Structure, please reach out to us directly at our support portal.

Best regards,
