Cloned story appears under wrong program epic in Structure

Francois Dumas April 3, 2024

Hello,

I have a problem using Structures in Jira. I've created a Structure with "Add issues belonging to epics" and "Extend with Advanced Roadmaps(Portfolio) child issues" options, with the purpose to see the entire hierarchy from Capabilities to Stories. When cloning a story and moving it to another Capability, I continue to see the new cloned story under the original Program Epic (not even under the original Epic). Do you know this bug and how to fix it? Thanks.

New correct position:

Clone still visible under old wrong Program Epic:

Hello @Francois Dumas

It's hard to say what the cause of this behavior is; we would need to take a detailed look at the configuration first. Maybe the cloned issue is added to the structure manually or the reason is related to some internal process in the background. If you need our assistance, please reach out to us via our support portal, and we go from there.

Best regards,

Hi Stepan,

Thanks for your reply. It's not added manually for sure. And I checked all links inside all issues involved, but there's nothing here to explain this bug. The story just appeared at this level after its creation. I know other users in my team are complaining about the same issue and would like it to be fixed. I'm sharing the Automation settings, just in case.

Do I still need to contact the support?

Yes, this issue should be properly investigated.
