Hi Community :),
our development is managed as matrix. AKA there's a group/ department of developers which has manager (we'll call it development dep. manager). and the same for QA department.
Based on the different projects' needs, each developer, and QA engineer are assigned to specific project for a period of time and then moves on to the next project. in each project we have a project manager.
A single developer/ QA engineer gets tasks both from the project manager and from (not often) the development/ QA department manager.
I was wondering what is the correct way to create the Jira projects: jira project per actual project , but then I still need to allow some how the DEV / QA dep manger to assign tasks to their developers/ QA engineers....
another way is to create jira project per department - but then how will the project plan & execute the sprints ?
since we have advanced roadmaps - I guess I can create teams but I'm not sure how it helps...
We also use an app (from the marketplace) for sprint capacity planning & management which also enables to create teams, but I'm not sure if that helps or how...
we use Jira DC, and ScriptRunner so some automation is optional ;)
how would you handle the above situation?
