Sprint Automated Approvals Recommendations

Our marketing firm is seeking recommendations for automated workflow approvals for defined Sprints in Jira. We are looking for a function that would send notifications to multiple "approvers" at the beginning of our sprints to review and approve multiple work items assigned to a specific sprint. A plug-in would be great since our knowledge of programming in Jira is limited. Once approved, our sprint can be activated manually. Suggestions and/or recommendations are welcome! The most simple options is probably to put "approval" in as part of the workflow.  Change the standard process from "To do -> in progress -> done" to "To do -> approved -> in progress -> done", and put conditions on the "to do -> approved" to prevent the wrong people approving the work.

Also, have another look at your process - you probably should not be putting things into a sprint until they are approved, as putting something into a sprint means you are going to work on it, and you probably don't want to work on something that has not been approved.

I would recommend using Approval Path plugin for this scenario, it has automation functionalities and is easy to use, it also enable you to get approvals from external approvers (outside your organization) if necessary and is well integrated with both Jira and Confluence.

You can use the automation steps to also customize actions to be taken when the steps are triggered, like automatically changing status of task etc.
