The requirement to understand how long issues spend in given activities, particularly status, is fundamental to measuring issue efficiency and identifying problems with issue resolution. Given this requirement, there are a quite a few 'Time in Status' applications in the Jira Marketplace.
These apps tend to focus exclusively on activities i.e. how long an issue was in a certain status, how long an issue was assigned to a user, etc and represent more of a 'reporting' style application. They provide another way of analyzing issue history data but importantly, they require the user to interpret the data to make decisions.
