When Midori announced the General Availability of the cloud version of Better Content Archiving for Confluence in April, we also shared that the popular content lifecycle management app is being released in 2 steps.
In April, we confirmed that the first step brings custom and flexible page statuses (that go way beyond what's possible in Confluence built-in) and rules for automatic content classification to statuses, and Confluence email notifications.
🎉 Today we are happy to give an update on the second step!
The latest release of Better Content Archiving brings automatic archiving and page deletion to Confluence Cloud!
It is more than just archiving. The new feature is called "Automations" because it is an extensible framework that introduces the "archive" and "delete" actions in this release. The door is open for other content lifecycle management-specific actions later.

With both steps completed, Better Content Archiving is now ready for you to create a full-circle, enterprise-ready Confluence content lifecycle management (CLM) strategy with automatic page statuses, notification email reminders, and content archiving/deletion. All are based on rules that fit your company document management workflow.
The team at Sentry (an application performance monitoring & error tracking software) created an internal Confluence document retention policy and allowed it to be shared with fellow Better Content Archiving users as a best practice. Better Content Archiving for Confluence is a comprehensive solution for Confluence content lifecycle management with automated page statuses, notifications, archiving, and more.
The Data Center and Server ✝️ versions have been on the market for 14 years, serving the largest teams using Confluence with millions of pages in some cases.
It's for all teams but mostly geared toward enterprise usage with large amounts of pages, like LinkedIn, and compliance needs.
The cloud version has also been gaining traction fast since the release of the first generally available version this April.
With Better Content Archiving for Confluence Cloud, you can:
1. Manually or automatically set your Confluence page statuses freely (much better than what is built-in to Confluence)
2. Set content owners (multiple users!)
3. Use CQL in configurations and for a page status macro
3. Use content owners as recipients and send notifications to them automatically (or to any Confluence user) about outdated pages or other content lifecycle events
4. Use quick actions for setting the page owner, the expired, up-to-date, and archive statuses with more options to follow.
5. Use the Automation feature to periodically archive or delete Confluence pages, with more actions to come.
If you waited for flexible statuses, automatic archiving, or better Confluence notifications to start a trial, the time has come!
Go ahead now and try Better Content Archiving for Confluence!
If you already have the app installed, please follow this upgrade guide we created for you.
