What is Time in Status

This is the most widely used feature by Jira users, as it shows precisely how much time each task has spent in workflow status. Getting a detailed report about this, it can help the PMs make informed decisions about team workflow, like where to cut some steps, how to decrease the maximum time spent, and giving personal attention to the assignee who is taking a long time to finish tasks.

 

How to get time in status data out of the box in Jira

  • You can create your own custom fields and apply Jira automation to populate those.
  • Use Jira Control Chart : It can help visualize the average data for one issue or a cluster of issues via dots on the chart. You can choose a timeframe and analyze it for a specific project.
