parameter values for making REST calls

Sergey Zaytsev September 12, 2013

Hi everyone! Can somebody, please, tell me, where I can get values for parameters to make a correct REST request for Zephyr? I mean, considering the following string

https://jira.my-company.com/rest/zephyr/1.0/cycles/{cycleId}/export

I can not undestand where and how can I prey for cycleId value.

Same thing about issueId, pid, vid and so on and so forth. I am even not sure about having the right understanding about that variables - what pid means for Zephyr? What vip means ?

P.S: I suppose I missed some concept or doc to read, but in case when a user creates his or her TestCycle, Test from GUI how can he or she could know values for using in REST calls ?

P.P.S: I'm trying to make integration with Zephyr in order to update particular tests' statuses

Thank you veru much for paying your attention and devoting some of your time, reading this issue.

Really appreciate any help!

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to update you all regarding API's in Zephyr for JIRA. In a week or two we will officially release Zephyr for JIRA 2.0. Zephyr for JIRA 2.0 will include Add-on ZAPI 1.0. Just a few facts about ZAPI 1.0...

  • ZAPI is a Zephyr for JIRA Add-on that allows access to Zephyr’s testing data including the ability to view and upload data programmatically.
  • ZAPI allows access to Zephyr for JIRA to read-write testing related data via REST APIs. This can be used to query test cycles, fetch tests and test cycles, update test results, create new tests, etc.
  • Integration to automation and continuous integration tools are now possible with well-documented and supported REST APIs.

If you are interested to read more about this please check out the link below. It will take you to our official announcement on our blog:

Kind Regards,

Emily

Gents,

Zephyr for JIRA at this time doesn't have publically supported APIs. There may be details floating around Atlassian Answers with more specifics as some people have reverse engineered them. However we at Zephyr don't offer support.

The feature is on our roadmap and Zephyr for JIRA 2.0 is around the corner. Stay tuned.

One of the best places to watch our feature announcements is our blog: http://blogs.yourzephyr.com/

Stop in at our table at the Attlassian Summit too! It's also around the corner, exactly 18 days away.

Kind Regards,

Chris

Try accessing this URL: https://jira.my-company.com/plugins/servlet/restbrowser

There you will find some more usage info. More precisely at https://jira.my-company.com/rest/zephyr/1.0/application.wadl

You can also, take a look at JIRA REST API.

Don't forget that you can contact authors of zephyr plugin for JIRA directly at: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.thed.zephyr.je (the link to "Support and Issues")

Thank you very much! I'll follow the first link. But wadl provides only definitions and my question appeared right becouse of that - event until now I can not understand where to get values for all parameters mentioned for different methods in the wadl. Anyway, lets look at _restbrowser_ you mentioned above. Hope it'll help!

I've tried searching zephyr's website and there is no (convenient) link to their REST API exposed by this JIRA plugin, so it might be a good idea to contact the developers and ask them to provide that to you.
