can we show the step number in view screen?

How we can show the step number before status in the view screen?It is possible?

example like :(2 out of 20 steps, etc)

I think about it and I thought a solution could serve.

1) You can create a custom field called 'Step' that her type is 'Number Field' or 'Free Text Field'.

2) With this plugin (FREE): https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.onresolve.jira.groovy.groovyrunner

You can create a script that when you are in a workflow status, put the corresponding step in costum field created in step 1.

If you want, I can help to create this script, don't worry, if you like my 'solution'.

I'd also create a custom field and depending on how straight forward the workflow is you can also use the JIRA suite utilities plugin to update the custom field on every post function. Not as elegant as using a script but nevertheless easy and FREE ;-)
