accessibilty issue with zen theme

Raj Karan February 23, 2014

I am trying to make my website accessible to all users. I am having problem with the structure of zen theme. The way zen creates the submenus are not accessible by screen readers which make most section of the website unaccessible.

I am using NVDA screen reader and the structure accessible to most of the screen reader is mentioned in below blog

http://tutorials.tessathornton.com/2011/08/08/screen-reader-accessible-dropdown-menus/

Please let me know if there's any work around

Hi I have noticed that Screen Reader is able to read out sub menu links if the sub menus are visible (hovered over menu item). As there's no way to trigger hover event from the keyboard so i need to make sub menu links accessible.

I guess there's some issue related to the event.

I have tried same screen reader on other websites (having structure discused in above mentioned link) and it worked perfectly.

Zen foundation officials has verified that current Zen Intranet theme has this issue which won't be fixed untill next release.
