At work, we have just installed a new JIRA install in which we have added Zephyr and ZAPI.
I am trying to use Firefox Poster to investigate the usage of the API but cannot get even a simple GET to work, my problem being that no matter what I do, I simply can NOT get ZaPI to authenticate
I first tried setting the User Auth and received a HTTP 403 Forbidden error
I then tried including the following Headers (as suggested in various forum posts)
Authorization = Basic YmFpcmRwOmlyMG5tQGlkZW4wMDQ=
Content-Type = application/json
once again, I received a HTTP 403 Forbidden error
I then tried SoapUI where I suppled the Username and Password in the HTTP Request Properties and got the following Response
<Response xmlns="http://jira/rest/zapi/latest/util/project-list">
<errorDesc>You do not have the permission to make this request. Login Required.</errorDesc>
<errorId>ERROR</errorId>
</Response>
I even wrote a simple Web client in JavaScript using MSXML2.XMLHTTP setting the headers to
Authorization = Basic YmFpcmRwOmlyMG5tQGlkZW4wMDQ=
Content-Type = application/json
and I get a HTTP 403 Forbidden error.
So my question is, how do I get ZAPI to authenticate? I have tried everything I found in the forums but nothing works.
Any help would be appreciated as this is getting very frustrating.
Regards,
Phil Baird

Hi Avinash, for us, this issue was solved by simply upgrading the version of Zephyr and ZAPI we were using, I really have no idea what the issue was.
The actual issue is you should have a valid ZAPI license apart for Zephyr License. which i did not have earlier; )
