Im trying to get JSON summaries of the Apache JIRAs.
I guessed that the server name for the apache jiras would be something like
- https://issues.apache.org:8081/rest/api/2/issue/
or
- https://issues.apache.org/rest/api/2/search?jql=assignee=jayunit100
But neither seems to be working.
How can I start connecting to the apache JIRA server's REST APIs , or find out wether or not a given JIRA site is indeed accepting API requests ( i assume this is configurable through the JIRA admin settings) ?

Hi Jay,
Both URLs may work (https://issues.apache.org:8081, https://issues.apache.org), just make sure the Remote API is enabled at General Configuration.
Cheers

Thanks, im not an admin so i cant configure the remote API. Is there a way I can "inspect" the site for API support without being an admin by issuing a REST request, for example, to list all the existing JIRAs? Or another way to query into the JIRAs from the top down?
