This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Page History and Page Comparison Views

Is there a limit to how many versions Confluence will store? Need to know because am considering utilizing this feature as a change-log in and of itself.

No there is no way to limit page history.

Three years feature request is there: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-27701

Please vote and there you can find workaround by using external plugin.
