Programmatically invite/add users to HipChat room

I would like to know if there is a way to invite users to a particular HipChat room via the HipChat API or possibly via some sort of XMPP client library.

I know I can create a room via the HipChat API, but it seems a bit useless to just create a room without having notified anyone that it exists for them to join.

Hi Annie - unfortunately there isn't currently any method in the API to manage room permissions or invite people a room. If you want to programmatically invite users, you'd need to use an XMPP framework or bot and log in as a specific user. We definitely want to add room management to the API in the future, but it hasn't risen to the top of our priority list yet.
