Possible to create new fixVersion without Admin user?

Jared Miller Jan 08, 2013

I have a python bot that performs various tasks in Jira through the API. One of the things I would like to do is create and update fixVersions.

Is there a way to setup the project and the bot's user that I can do this without making the bot's user a project administrator?

Hi Jared,

Unfortunately, it's not possible given JIRA's permission design. The user needs to be an admin in order to do so.

Cheers,
