Make fields editable after close

Terry Jeske February 9, 2015

When we close an issue we set the jira.issue.editable to false. However, we have a requirement that at some later date users can apply labels to issues to help categorize them for reporting purposes. Does anyone have ideas on how to accomplish this? We would much rather not reopen an Issue just to add meta-data.

Thx.

Some options:

  • So the question is do you actually need them non-editable or not?
  • Instead of "editable" property, you could use th group-allowed-to-edit property instead.
  • Change the workflow so that there is a transition from closed to closed that has conditions on it limiting it to a small set of people, and a screen that only includes the fields you want to allow the change on

The third option here is probably the most controlled one, and hence the route I'd probably take
