Hi Andrew, Thanks for ur answer. This is happening when a user tries to authenticate with crowd, and it connects to an external ldap system. I see lots of these entries on the crowd logs.

You could try paging the results - http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CROWD/Novell+eDirectory (enable Use Paged Results) - so that requests to the directory are made in chunks rather than requesting information from LDAP in one hit. It might also be worth having a look at your Crowd cache settings - http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CROWD/Configuring+Caching+for+an+LDAP+Directory

If they don't help it could be a fault with your LDAP server. Have you got directory services people that you can ask to run some diagnostics on your LDAP server? The technote I linked to previously suggests possible out of memory errors with the LDAP server or some other internal fault.

Hope that's of some help?

Andrew.

Hi Frank, that could be either crowd or LDAP - http://www.novell.com/documentation/nwec/nwec_enu/nwec_ids_t_err_insufficient_buffer.html Are the errors happening with a particular action, or do you just have lots of instances of this error in the logs?
