Is there a way to set the Trigger Reason when I kick off a build using the REST api?

I wanted to create  a custom trigger reason and use that to differentiate between when my automatic process kicks off the build and when someone whacks the button.

I wish, but no. A plugin  (custom rest api) is needed to do this.
