How to create a custom field like the components custom field in Jira

Hi,

I need to hava a custom field like the Components one in Jira.

Where once the field is populated the user can select values and they are added (just like when a user is associating multiple components to an issue).

Note: A multi select field is a little different so I dont want to use it.
