How can I implement a custom renderer?

Matthias Kuespert January 30, 2013

Hi,

I'm wondering how to implement a custom renderer for a multi-line text field in JIRA 4.4.4. Is this possible?

Which class should be extended and how should the renderer be declared in atlassian-plugin.xml?

Thanks,

Matthias

You cannot add a renderer but you can create a new custom field type and render it as you needed. If there is existing data, you will have to migrate it to the new field though.

Jobin,

thanks for the answer - I already feared I would end up to migrate all content to a new CFType.

BTW: forgot to thank you for the great j-tricks site ... this info really helped when diving into JIRA.
