Getting an error for: Unknown host maven.atlassian.com

Jay Desai July 18, 2014

I am trying to setup my PC as per steps given on SDK Development site.

However I am getting following error when trying to run atlas-run command.

[ERROR] Failed to execute goal on project helloworld: Could not resolve dependencies for project com.atlassian.tutorial:helloworld:atlassian-plugin:1.0-SNAPSHOT
: Failed to collect dependencies at com.atlassian.jira:jira-api:jar:6.3.1: Failed to read artifact descriptor for com.atlassian.jira:jira-api:jar:6.3.1: Could not transfer artifact com.atlassian.jira:jira-api:pom:6.3.1 from/to atlassian-public (https://maven.atlassian.com/repository/public): maven.atlassian.com: Unknown host maven.atlassian.com -> [Help 1]

My settings.xml file is as (settings.txt)

I am behind a firewall. I have put the required credentials in <proxies> element.

I am not able to figure out what am I missing?

Why is there an Unknown Host exception?

I am able to access https://maven.atlassian.comfrom my browser.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Regards,

Jay Desai

Hi Nick,

Thank you for the reply.

Howver, I am not able to post question to the link that you mentioned. As soon as I try to go to the Questions section, it takes me to this page: where I am not able to login.

Does this login needs me to be registered to something else? What is the issue I am not able to understand.

Thanks again.

Cheers!!

Jay

Jay - so sorry, that is a newer help system we just released and none of us caught the fact that there's no "Create Account" link on that page.

You can create an Ecosystem account quickly by going here: https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/secure/Signup!default.jspa

Thanks! -nick

I am able to login now and go through various projects there.

Hopefully, https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/would help novice developers like me to get going quickly and help overall developer community.

Thank you for the reply.

Jay
