Eclipse plugin for Crucible

Piyush Punjak October 5, 2011

Hi

I was using Crucible for code review. But there is need to have eclipse plugin for it.

Do you think we are going to hae it in near future?

I saw that there was a support for the plugin in past but now it has been stopped.

Was there any perticular reason to stop that?

Regards

Piyush

Hi,

There was fully Crucible integration in Altassian Connector for Eclipse prior its version 3.0.

Atlassian decided to remove it from 3.0+ due to several reasons - this the official announcement - http://blogs.atlassian.com/2011/02/atlassian-ide-connector-30/.

I don't think that in foreseeable future such level of integration will come back.

Cheers,

Looks like the main problem is from development side.

Did not have one source for crucible which served as a web application and for standalone application,

or eclipse plugin.

If that was easy, I do not think they would have removed the support, which ultimately boils down to economics.

If the app is complicated as crucible, web interface becomes slow,

With webapp, synching with eclipse, cannot be done immediately, big usability problem. .

Hope they do not make Eclipse a web app.

Cheers
