Bamboo server migration

babu babu May 25, 2014

Hi All,

We want to migrate our bamboo server( version 5.2) to different bamboo server( version 5.4).

Is there any way to automate the below migration steps instead of doing manual?

- Migration of all Bamboo plans

- Migration of all Bamboo deployment projects

- Global variables, shared repo

- users /roles

NOTE: This is not an upgrade, but moving to new bamboo server(replace)

Thanks,

Hello Babu,

If the version of the instance in the old server is 5.2 and the version in the new server will be 5.4, this is considered an upgrade. If you don't want to upgrade, everything must be manually created from scratch in the new server.

Your best bet is to first move the 5.2 instance to the other server by following this KB article, or to clone it.

After that, you can follow the Bamboo 5.4 Upgrade Notes.

I hope this helps!
