Apache reverse proxy with Stash

Spacecat June 23, 2013

Hi,

Since recently we've have been using Stash at out company and really like this product. However as we have put all of our internal webapplication behind an Apache reverse proxy I do have a question about ssh protocol. The only way right now to use ssh while working with the repositories is to use the name of the server where Stash is installed (HTTP/HTTPS works fine with reverse proxy). Is there a way to get it to work the way we would like it to?

Thanks,
Sam

Hi Spacecat,

Unfortunately Apache doesn't support SSH proxying. Instead we have some documentation on how to configure HAProxy instead:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/STASH/Setting+up+SSH+port+forwarding

We use a combination of Apache and HAProxy internally, although you can just use HAProxy if that makes it easier.

Cheers,

Charles

BTW, here is deb package for haproxy you can use it as working sample. We use it in our company.
