Add Kanban Criteria to the Greenhopper Columns

Peter Kahn December 12, 2011

Hi all,

Is there a way to add text to Greenhopper columns? On our white board we have criteria for each transition at the bottom of the column. I'd like to add that to the GreenHopper system to remind us of what done for each step means.

How do you solve this problem?

Thanks

Peter

I'm curious about this from a process standpoint. Is your workflow strictly linear?

In our workflow, for example, we have four columns. Bugs can move from column 1 to 2 (in progress), from 1 to 3 (bug declined), from 2 to 3 (submit for review), from 2 to 1 (stop progress), from 3 to 1 (work incomplete), from 3 to 4 (close), or from 4 to 1 (reopen).

That seems like a lot to keep as notes on the board.

We are just getting started switching to Kanban but so far it is linear

Standard flow

Todo -> Analysis -> In Progress -> Demo -> Done

All steps can also go back to Todo. So, if we need to bump a stalled item because we can't move it forward and need the work-in-progress room we'd send it back to todo and the customer would be notified.

The criteria for done in each step is about 4-6 bullet points. So it would be alot of text. One option would be to put this on the screen for each transition.
