Where is progress bar field in Plan?

Chris Brannon September 17, 2020

Hello, I'm trying out Porfolio/Advanced Roadmaps Server Version 3.1, improved planning interface and don't see the "Progress (story points)" or "Progress (issue count)" fields available to add in my Jira plan.  Are these custom fields?  I'm inclined to think not as there is a page devoted to progress bars here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/advancedroadmapsserver/monitoring-progress-of-work-970614913.html

Can you tell me if I need to configure something to get these fields to show in the list of available fields in the plan?

Thanks,

Chris

@Chris Brannon - Just click on the Fields and uncheck the fields that you want to hide.  You need to check your plan's scheduling section.  Depends on your setting, you will see the available fields changes -

Example - If your plan scheduling is set to "Story Point", then you will see Progress (Story Point) field available.  In the screenshot that I attached, my plan's scheduling is set to hours, thus the available field is displayed as Progress (hours).

Hmm, the issue I'm running into is that there is no "Progress (hours)" or "Progress (story points)" field to select in the Fields dialog.  As you can see here, I cannot select a "Progress (story points)" item from the list as one does not exist.  My question is "what do I need to configure so that the item is available in the list?"

@Chris Brannon - You will have to check your plan's input source to determine why it is not giving you that option.  Does your input source tracks time or storypoint?  Unless Atlassian can provide further support.

In our env, we uses Projects, Boards, and Filter input source types for our plans and those fields are there in the plans.

Ah, that's a lead I can follow up on.  Will check our projects to see if Progress is accounted for.

I'm not having any luck determining where to configure Jira upstream so that the "Progress (story points)" field is available in Plans.  I'd appreciate some support here.

Thanks,

Chris

Forgot to mention we are using Advanced Roadmaps version 3.29 and we are on Jira DC on-prems.  What env are you on?  I would suggest that you contact Atlassian Support and file an actual support case on your issue.

Can you add me a watcher of your support case?  Love to learn what was the problem and solution.

Good Luck.

Best, Joseph Chung Yin.

We are using version 3.1 on-prem server.  I'll file a case and add you as a watcher.

Hi @Chris Brannon the progress bar feature was released in version 3.2.0, so you would need to upgrade the version of Advanced Roadmaps to be able to use it.

@Chris Brannon -  In your plan, you can click on the "Fields" button to include the progress fields.  By default is hidden.

Hope this help.

Thanks for the quick response.  Can you tell me how to "unhide" the field?

What I may not have been clear enough on in the original post was that the Progress (story points) and Progress (item counts) fields are not showing in the list of fields I can choose from.  I'm wondering what's preventing them from showing in the field list.JiraAdvancedRoadmap_ProgressBarField.PNG
