Jira Portfolio - how do I increase velocity in future sprint?

I'm using the trial version of Jira Portfolio. I've created a plan and adjusted my teams' velocity. Is there a way to gradually increase that velocity per sprint in future sprints?

Hey @Chris Buckwell

In Portfolio, the team's velocity is calculated as an average of the amount of work the team has been able to complete in the past five work iterations.

So, if you want to increase your team velocity in the next sprints, you need to keep two things in mind:

  • the team's performance over past sprints.
  • the availability of your team members.

You can have more information about team settings under this Configuring team settings doc.

Let me know if this helps you for now!

Gabi
