JIRA Roadmap Plans

When displaying linked Child/Parent Portfolio Features, they display on the same level, rather than in a hierarchy. Any way to fix?

Thanks Dave,

The question is if 2 Product Features, one the child of the other, would show within the plan roadmap on the same level or tiered with one indented?

I have them linked, and both show the parent child relationship within the issue but they appear to be on the same level within the roadmap plan, and the relationship isnt visible in the 'Parent' column.

Hey, sorry but I'm still a bit confused...

If "Product Features" is an issue type then it would need to be associated at a single hierarchy level which would mean that one "Product Feature" issue couldn't be the parent of another.

You've said that you've linked them but I'm wondering how you did this and if you're using a custom parent/child relationship rather than using the "Parent link" field on an issue?

This would certainly explain what you're describing. Have you configured the hierarchy settings for Advanced Roadmaps and if so, what hierarchy level is the "Product Feature" issue type mapped to?

Did you create the link within a plan or via an issue details screen? And did you use a field (i.e. a drop-down menu) or did you create a link from under the description?

Regards,

Dave

I think this does answer my question, and makes sense.

Hi @Lance,

Do you think you could provide a little more context on the question, maybe with some screenshots? Are you asking about how child links are shown in a plan or in an issue details view?

I'm going to guess that you mean on an issue details view and are asking if a fully hierarchy could be shown? If that's the question then we only show the immediate children (not any further descendants) so there would only be one hierarchy level to show. We also show either parent (either via the epic link or parent link field).

Not sure if this answers your question though?

Regards,

Dave
